Step into the Supernatural: How to Prophesy and Hear God Clearly?

As we approach Passover and Pentecost, we reflect on the birth of the Church, as recorded in Acts 1 and 2. It’s essential to revisit the foundation of the Church and understand how we are an extension of that early movement. We are made of the same fabric and carry the latter glory (Haggai 2:9).

I know some of you might feel frustrated because you haven’t yet received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. But don’t lose heart! It’s God’s will for you. The Bible commands us to hunger for the gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 14:1). If it’s in God’s Word, then it’s His will for you.

Jesus, as the Son of Man, was anointed by the Holy Spirit. Acts 10:38 tells us, “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil.” If Jesus needed this anointing, how much more do we?

Being filled with the Holy Spirit isn’t a matter of denominational preference. It’s not like picking from a restaurant menu. You can’t say, “I’ll take salvation, but I’ll skip the baptism of the Spirit.” To follow Christ fully, we need His Spirit. Without the power of the Holy Spirit, we cannot manifest God’s kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

If you haven’t yet received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, you can receive it right now. In Acts 19, Paul met some believers who had never heard of the Holy Spirit. He simply prayed for them, and they received it immediately.

You don’t need a five-day seminar or extensive study before receiving the Holy Spirit. You just need faith. Open your heart, receive, and be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Many of you reading this are receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit right now—let us know in the comments.

Once you are Spirit-filled, you can prophesy. The book of Acts tells us, “Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.” (Acts 2:17). This means that the language of the Holy Spirit is not English, Arabic, or Chinese—it is visions, dreams, and prophecy.

When you start seeing visions, don’t think you’re crazy. Welcome to the Kingdom! Faith is about seeing the unseen (Hebrews 11:1). God will begin speaking to you through visions and dreams, and you’ll be able to release inspired words.

There is a distinction between teaching and prophesying. Teaching involves preparing, studying the text, and explaining it in context. While it can be Spirit-led, it follows a structured process.

Prophecy, on the other hand, is different. It happens in the moment, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. When you prophesy, you speak words that you did not pre-plan. God says, “Open your mouth, and I will fill it.” (Psalm 81:10). Many people want God to fill their mouths before they open them, but that’s not faith.

To prophesy effectively, you must take a step of faith. Start with the first word or vision that God gives you. As you step out, more revelation will follow. I promise you!

Every time I prophesy, I remind myself, “I am in God’s perfect will because He commanded us to prophesy.” (1 Corinthians 14:1). This confidence silences the enemy’s intimidation. When you are aligned with God’s will, the anointing flows effortlessly. Halleluiah!

Prophecy is like a muscle—the more you use it, the stronger it gets. In the Old Testament, prophets would gather and prophesy for hours (1 Samuel 19:20-24). There is no limit to God’s revelation.

To grow in the prophetic, start small. If you prophesy over one person a day, increase it to three, then more. Practice daily. Even if you don’t have someone to prophesy over, speak to nature, your city, or even your pet. Utilize online platforms. Write prophetic words on social media, start a blog, or send emails, but do something about it. You have no excuse!

I have been prophesying for over 20 years now, and the more I practice, the more accurate I become. If you want to grow quickly, surround yourself with prophetic people. Atmospheres matter. We are entering a season of prophetic explosion. The world is shifting into the supernatural, and God is raising a prophetic army. Will you say YES?

I pray that any spirit of intimidation or witchcraft is broken off of you in Jesus’ name. May God baptize you with the Spirit and fill your mouth with His inspired words. The Spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus (Revelation 19:10), and prophecy should always bring salvation, encouragement, and faith. The language of the Holy Spirit is always redemption!

To grow in revelation, walk in purity. Jesus said, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” (Matthew 5:8). If you want to see and hear clearly in the Spirit, let God cleanse you through the washing of His Word daily.

Now that you have received this teaching, don’t just be entertained by it—activate it. Start prophesying, bless others, and mentor those around you.
