Eden’s Mindset: How to Wake Up Everyday to the Atmosphere of Glory?
Long before the world knew the language of “not enough,” there was a breath. In the stillness of the beginning, humanity did not wake up to a checklist, a crisis, or a struggle for survival. We awakened to a Face. When God leaned into the dust of the ground and exhaled the nishmat chayyim—the breath of life—mankind’s first conscious experience was the warmth of the Creator’s presence. This is our true origin story: we were birthed into a relationship before we were ever given a task.
This beginning reveals the “Glory Atmosphere” that God intended to be the permanent habitat for the human soul. It was an environment defined by the absence of lack. We were placed in a garden not of scarcity, but of staggering abundance. In the original design, provision was not something to be chased; it was something to be stepped into. The trees were already heavy with fruit; the rivers were already flowing with gold. Mankind was designed to function from a “finished work” reality, where our primary occupation was not to labor for survival, but to steward the overflow of a generous Father.
Within this atmosphere, the design for human connection was equally divine. There were no masks, no hidden agendas, and no competition for status. Adam and Eve stood in a union that mirrored the harmony of the Trinity—naked and unashamed. This was the original norm: divine connections that were built on the foundation of seeing the “gold” in one another, moving together in a shared identity as image-bearers. We were never meant to be isolated; we were designed to be a community of kings and queens, walking in the cool of the day with the Source of all Life.
From this place of rest and intimacy, the mandate to rule was issued. We were called to exercise dominion over the earth, but it was a rule intended to be exercised from the Garden, not outside of it. We were to be the bridge between heaven and earth, extending the borders of Eden until the whole world reflected the glory of the Father. This was not a burden of heavy toil; it was the high privilege of co-laboring with God, bringing the order of His Kingdom into every corner of creation.
Today, this vision is not merely a nostalgic look at a lost paradise. More than ever, we are redeemed in Christ. Through the finished work of Jesus, the “Last Adam,” the Glory Atmosphere has been restored—not just as a place we visit, but as an internal reality we carry. In Christ, the breath of God has been exhaled into us once again through the Holy Spirit.
We no longer have to live as orphans in a mindset of scarcity. We have been invited back into the abundance of the Father’s house, empowered to rule over the circumstances of life from a seat of victory. The Garden is no longer behind us; it is within us, and through us, the original intent of God is being manifested to a world that is desperate to wake up and breathe again.
Glory to God
