You are made in God’s image. The truth is always your first drive, even in sinful acts. No one wakes up desiring to be deceived! So let’s unpack and discern closely: why do people get into sexual orgies?

First, what is an orgy?

In pornography, an orgy refers to a sexual scene involving multiple participants โ€” usually more than three โ€” engaging in group sex at the same time. It’s typically non-monogamous, often focused on variety and simultaneous sexual acts, and is portrayed as a consensual, uninhibited gathering where individuals interact freely with multiple partners. It differs from other categories like a threesome (3 people) or a gangbang (one person with many others focusing on them). In an orgy, interaction is more open and mutual among all participants.

Why would someone think being involved in an orgy is good for them?

Whether you are the receiver or the giver of pleasure, youโ€™re in it for something. What is that?

  • Rebellion: You are breaking divine law. You donโ€™t want a godly commitment with one partner, so you go extreme.

  • Lack of love: You lacked love in your life, and you think this is how you restore it, multiplied. You are proving (to yourself or others) that you are so loved and wanted.

  • Mental health struggles: You are hooked on the quick fix of dopamine, thrill, and pleasure as a way to keep yourself from depression or insanity. The more partners in one session, the better.

  • Solitude: You are afraid of being lonely. You canโ€™t healthily make friends, so you give yourself to an orgy because itโ€™s guaranteed. There’s no rejection, because no one says no to sex.

  • Entertainer mindset: You love to contribute to othersโ€™ happiness and desire a crowd. So you subscribe to an orgy to fulfill this dream.

  • Love language โ€“ physical touch: You didnโ€™t receive healthy touch in your life, but in an orgy, it feels like the whole world is embracing you.

  • Adventurous spirit: You love new experiences. Trying an orgy is your new adrenaline rush.

  • Social bonding: You want to offer friendship to others, and the orgy becomes your network of friends.

  • Low self-confidence: You struggle with your appearance. But in an orgy, pleasure is what matters most. Many overlook looks or even lie and say you’re beautiful.

  • Business opportunist: If youโ€™re being paid for an orgy, you may view this as a creative way to make money.

This is not an exhaustive list โ€” weโ€™re simply practicing discernment of spirits. Why does someone enter into deception, and in this case, the deception of a sexual orgy? What is your landing strip โ€” your hook, your hurt, your trauma, your drive?

When you get your revelation, when you find your why, your eyes are opened. Then you can weigh your ways: do you want to continue living in a prison? A lowlife? In cycles of shame, death, addiction, and sickness?

Jesus Christ loves you. He is not judging you โ€” He is your light and your salvation.

So ask yourself:

  • Why are you doing what you’re doing?

  • What is in your heart thatโ€™s empowering the lie?

  • Do you see yourself as precious?

  • Worthy of one blessed commitment โ€” someone ready to die for you?

  • Or do you see yourself as cheap as a public asset, given to anyone and everyone, just to fill something in you that can never be satisfied this way?

You were never in it for the sex from the beginning because sex is neutral. You had deeper issues behind your orgy cravings and encounters!
